Jakub Garbacz – organy /Łódź/

JAKUB GARBACZ– an organist, music producer and sound engineer, born in Kielce in 1975. He commenced his music education in the piano class at the State Music School in Kielce, simultaneously learning to play the organ with JerzyRosiński– an organist of the cathedral basilica in Kielce. In 2000, he completed withhonorsa degree in organ performance in the class of Prof.MirosławPietkiewicz at theGrażynaandKiejstutBacewicz Academy of Music inŁódź, and in 2011 – finished postgraduate studies in sound engineering. He has taken part in numerous master classes in organ music interpretation and improvisation, as well as organ competitions: Brno –a semi-finalist(1997),Rumia–2ndprize(1997), Vilnius(1999). In the years 1999–2001, as a grant holder of the Swiss foundationStiftung für InternationaleMeisterkursefürMusik, he actively participated in summer master classes given by Prof. JeanGuillouin theTonhalle, Zurich.

He has given concerts both at most organ festivals in Poland and abroad (e.g.in the Czech Republic, Finland, the Netherlands, Ireland, Lithuania, Germany, Slovakia, Sweden, Italy). He pursues an intense activity as a chamber musician, cooperating with choirs,soloistsand early music ensembles. He collaborates on a regular basis with the flautist JoannaWoszczyk-Garbacz.

JakubGarbaczcurrently holds the position of the principal organist of St. StanislawKostka’smetropolitan cathedral basilica inŁódź. He is an artistic director of the concert cycle named “Days of Organ and Chamber Music in the Metropolitan Cathedral ofŁódź”, organized by the “Carpe Diem” Foundation. He gives demonstrations of the 58-stop organ of the metropolitan cathedral inŁódź. As a lecturer, he collaborates with the Church Music College of the Archdiocese ofŁódź. He is also a member of the Church Music Commission in the metropolitan curia ofŁódź.

Apart from his strictly artistic activity, JakubGarbaczruns a recording studio of classical music and the “Ars Sonora” record label; he is also a lecturer of the Music Academy inŁódź(phonography, sound engineering, implementation of online broadcasts of classical music concerts).
